At the turn of the millennium boating, snowmobiling and all-terrain vehicles have never been so popular across the world. Each and every year millions of additional boats and recreational vehicles share our global waters, lakes and pathways. The IWSF was created as a result of the growing epidemic of serious, yet completely avoidable boating and recreational vehicle related accidents.

The IWSF is first and foremost a membership organization that is dedicated to the promotion of safety for all waterways and pathways everywhere. In doing so we offer our over 60,000 members a wide range of benefits and services.
